At the Canberra Hospital we support patients, their families and carers to cope with the emotional, behavioural and cognitive symptoms relating to an illness or injury.
We provide assessment, education, diagnosis and therapy for a range of clinical conditions across inpatient and outpatient groups, including paediatric services.
Our psychologists work closely with your health care team and are trained in helping you achieve positive change, including:
- Adjusting to and managing your illness
- coping with medical procedures
- coping with anxiety and depression
- pain management
- discharge planning and safety
We accept referrals from medical, nursing and allied health staff, but we are not a crisis service so there may be a waiting time before you can be seen.
