Healthier Choices, Brighter Minds: CIT introduces their new Fresh2Go menu

CIT students, staff and visitors now have access to fresh, healthy food options through the new Fresh2Go menu, thanks to a collaboration with Healthier Choices Canberra.

Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT) students, staff and visitors now have access to fresh, healthy food options through the new Fresh2Go menu, thanks to a collaboration with Healthier Choices Canberra.

This initiative, led by ACT Health, promotes nutritious food and beverages within the community to support good health and prevent chronic diseases.

“Healthier Choices Canberra makes it easier for Canberrans to find tasty, fresh and healthier food and drink options,” Chief Health Officer Dr Kerryn Coleman said.

“This initiative is an essential part of a comprehensive approach to improving the overall health of the community.”

Amidst the challenge of navigating marketing for unhealthy food and drinks, local businesses in Canberra now have the opportunity, with the support of Healthier Choices Canberra, to make their healthier options more visible and appealing.

These businesses receive valuable support from the program manager, along with free promotions and recognition through awards and events.

The alignment of Healthier Choices Canberra’s principles with the CIT Student Association pledge to promote healthier options has resulted in a revamped menu at CIT’s Fresh2Go venues in Reid, Bruce, and Fyshwick.

The new menu focuses on increasing fruit and vegetable intake while maintaining affordability for the CIT community.

The Fresh2Go menu now has a variety of options including, sushi, veggie breakfast wraps, healthier burgers, roasts of the day and Vietnamese rice paper rolls.
