The Department of Neonatology

The Department of Neonatology coordinates a range of in-house programs that positively contribute to the personal development of all staff. These programs cover various topics of interest to neonatal health professionals who work within the department.

Foundation Program in Neonatal Nursing

We offer a foundation program for neonatal nursing that aims to help new university graduates transition to work in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Special Care Nursery (SCN).

The program is available to graduate nurses who have been offered employment through the ACT Health graduate Transition to Practice program.

Four positions are available each year. New Registered Nurses are supported by the Clinical Support Nurse and Clinical Development Nurses.

Graduate Certificate in Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing

We offer a post-graduate certificate in Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing through ACT Health and the Australian Catholic University.

The course runs annually and scholarships are available.
