Recent illicit use of any drug by age group

  • Recent illicit drug use was more common among males than females in the ACT. In 2016, 16.1% of males and 9.7% of females aged 14 years and older had used an illicit drug in the last year.
  • ACT residents aged 20–29 years were most likely to have reported using an illicit drug in the previous 12 months (22.4%). However, this figure was lower than the national figure for the same age group (28.2%).
