ACT Disability Health Strategy Project

The ACT Disability Health Strategy Project was broken down into three phases:

Phase One: Scoping – completed in December 2021

This phase of the project delivered:

  • a Scoping Paper, Future Directions of Disability Health in the ACT: Phase One of the ACT Disability Health Strategy Project (including an Abridged Version) and
  • a Listening Report, ACT Disability Health Strategy Roundtable: Listening Report – Phase One of the ACT Disability Health Strategy Project.

Phase Two: Development – completed September 2023

During this phase of the project, the ACT Disability Health Strategy Steering Committee was established guided the development of the Disability Health Strategy. Members of the committee included people with disability, carers of people with disability, service providers, advocacy groups, and key ACT Government Directorate representatives.

This phase provided the opportunity for key stakeholders to attend a roundtable and the ACT community to provide feedback on a draft of the Disability Health Strategy between 14 June and 25 July 2023.

Along with the delivery of the final draft Disability Health Strategy and First Action Plan, this phase of the project delivered two Listening Reports:

  • the ACT Disability Health Strategy Roundtable: Listening Report – Phase Two of the ACT Disability Health Strategy Project (including an Easy English translation) and
  • the ACT Disability Health Strategy YourSay Public Consultation: Listening Report (to be released soon).

Phase Three: Launch and Implementation – completed December 2023

This phase of the project launched the ACT Disability Health Strategy 2024-2033 and the ACT Disability Health Strategy: First Action Plan 2024-2026.
