    Self-rated health, ACT Year 7 students, Year 7 Health Survey, 2020-2021

    Respondents to the Year 7 Health Survey were asked to rate their health during the past four weeks choosing from one of the following five options:
    Excellent
    Very good
    Good
    Fair
    Poor

    Excellent and very good, and fair and poor have been combined for this analysis.

    The proportion of respondents who self-rated their health as excellent/very good decreased between 2020 (50.2%) and 2021 (47.3%), while those who rated their health as fair/poor increased from (2020: 18.7%; 2021: 21.3%), however these changes were not statistically significant. Those who rated their health as good remained stable between 2020 (31.1%) and 2021 (31.4%). There was no significant difference by sex over the survey years. 
     
    For the purpose of reporting the Year 7 Health Survey data on HealthStats, if the 95% confidence intervals of the estimates do not overlap, they are considered to be significantly different.

    Persons includes male, female, other and refused sex respondents and may not always add to the sum of male and female.
