Low birthweight babies


    ACT babies weighing less than 2500 grams at birth, 2012 to 2021

    • A baby’s birthweight is an important indicator of health status. Babies are considered to be “low birthweight” if their weight at birth is less than 2,500 grams.
    • In 2021, 6.1% of babies in the ACT had a birthweight less than 2,500 grams.
