  • Maternal age is an important risk factor impacting on outcomes for both mothers and babies. Adverse outcomes are more likely to occur in younger and older mothers.
  • The percentage of first time mothers aged over 35 years ranged from 13.9% to 20.0% between 2011 and 2020.
