Centenary Hospital for Women and Children
The Centenary Hospital for Women and Children, located at Canberra Hospital, co-locates of services including paediatrics, maternity services, the neonatal intensive care unit, gynaecology and fetal medicine, the birth centre and specialised outpatient services.
Construction took place in two stages.
Stage One, which opened in August 2012. involved the construction of a new building surrounding the existing Maternity building.
Stage Two became fully operational in December 2013 and involved a major refurbishment of the existing Maternity building.

The new three-storey building provides close to 150 beds, an increased number of ambulatory care (outpatient) consult rooms, clinical office space, education and training facilities, and family accommodation. It also incorporate a play ground, cafÃ© and landscaped spaces.
Staff and consumers representing paediatrics, neonatology and women and babies services had considerable input to the design of the facility.
An information booklet was produced to support a community open day held before Stage One of the Centenary Hospital for Women and Children opened. The booklet includes more information about the new hospital, its services and staff.
