The ACT Chief Nurse leads the Nursing & Midwifery Office and reports directly to the ACT Health Directorate Deputy Director General, Ian Thompson.

ACT Chief Nurse
The Nursing and Midwifery Office is led by Ms Veronica Croome as our ACT Chief Nurse. Ms Croome brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience.
The Nursing and Midwifery Office supports the ACT Chief Nurse in the provision of strategic leadership for the Nursing and Midwifery professions within the ACT. The office provides information, advice and assistance in the implementation of initiatives on a broad range of nursing and midwifery issues including workforce planning and reform; recruitment and retention; regulation and practice; best practice and quality; education; research; legislation and policy across the health and community care setting.
