This website provides information on the Early Recognition of the Deteriorating Patient Program within ACT Health, Australia and provides an opportunity for other health facilities to use our resources and learn from our experience.
The idea behind the ‘Compass’ name is to point you in the right direction, with the aim of improving the early recognition and timely management of deteriorating patients.
The information is available to download once you register. Please proceed to the Registration Page to enter your details.
You can download and use documentation, including a general observation chart incorporating modified early warning scores (MEWS), a MEWS policy and the COMPASS education package.
There are also tools that will assist in implementation, to ensure you have the greatest impact in change management, as well as some simple audit tools.
