Accessing Our Services
► Daily Walk-In Clinics - No appointments necessary
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday Mornings

► Booked Appointments
Booked appointments are available for specialist HIV care throughout the week. We encourage those needing HIV care to book an appointment rather than attend our busy walk in clinics.
Limited appointments for general sexual health care are available Monday, Tuesday and Thursday afternoons.
► M Clinic - After hours STI checks for gay and bisexual men
The M Clinic is a free walk-in clinic at Canberra Sexual Health Centre offering STI checks for men who have sex with men at a more convenient time. HIV results are available via SMS in less than 24 hours.
4:30pm - 7pm on the first business Monday of every month.

M Clinic is a great opportunity to access free, confidential, after hours screening for sexually transmitted infections and blood borne viruses for men that have sex with men.
Australian HIV and STI testing guidelines for gay men who don't have any symptoms, recommend at least annual HIV and STI testing for all men who sex with men, and more frequent testing (every 3-6 months) for men who have more than one partner or change partners stipu.nsw.gov.au/stigma/sti-testing-guidelines-for-msm/
M Clinic patients can receive HIV results in less than 24 hours by phone or SMS, with full STI results available in one week.

HIV Post Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP)
If you've had high risk/potential exposure to HIV, you need to seek medical advice as soon as possible. Canberra Sexual Health Centre clinicians will assess your exposure risk and provide you with information and PEP medications where indicated.
Call anytime during our business hours of 8:30am - 5:00pm to arrange an urgent PEP consultation (including Wednesday mornings when our clinic is closed). For after-hours PEP, please present as soon as possible to either Canberra Hospital or Calvary Hospital Emergency Departments.

Getting Your Results
We will ask you during consultation your preferred method of receiving your results. Your options are SMS, telephone or attending our clinic.
Telephone results are available by calling us on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday before 4pm and leave your details with reception. One of our nurses will call you back when they’re free.
If you prefer to attend the clinic for your results, you can attend the walk-in clinic or book an appointment.

Finding Our Clinic
Canberra Sexual Health Centre is locate on the ground floor of Building 5 at Canberra Hospital, behind the ANU Medical School and the National Capital Private Hospital.
Travelling by Car
Enter Hospital Rd from Gilmore Cres then turn left to enter the small carpark near our clinic. Limited parking is also available on Gilmore Cres, or check out the map below to see other parking options.
Travelling by Bus
Canberra ACTION Buses run regular services from the Civic and Woden interchanges ( View timetables ). Bus stops on Hospital Rd and Gilmore Cres are a short 5 min walk to the clinic.
Travelling by Bicycle
Bike racks with lockable storage are available near Building 4 and throughout Canberra Hospital (bring your own lock).
