THE HEALTH PROMOTION INNOVATION FUND IS NOW OPEN FOR APPLICATIONS

Supporting innovative activities that enable ACT residents to live a healthy, active life

The Health Promotion Innovation Fund invites applications for grants of up to $15,000 for innovative health promotion projects of up to 12 months duration that support the following ACT Government funding priorities:

  • Improve population level outcomes around overweight and obesity;
  • Improve children's health and wellbeing outcomes in relation to overweight and obesity, including improving eating habits and increasing physical activity.
  • Support smoking prevention, reduction and cessation, particularly in high risk groups;
  • Support activities which reduce the harmful and hazardous consumption of alcohol;
  • Support healthy active ageing through appropriate physical activity opportunities.

The Health Promotion Innovation Fund provides three funding opportunities per year. The next cut-off date for applications is Monday 19 October 2015.

Healthy Canberra Grants

This funding opportunity is open for applications every 12 months. It is expected that the next funding opportunity will be opened in early 2016.

Healthy Canberra Grants is the major funding activity of the ACT Health Promotion Grants Program (ACTHPGP).

Healthy Canberra Grants funding priorities are to support programs which aim to:

  • Improve population level outcomes around overweight and obesity
  • Improve children's health and wellbeing outcomes in relation to overweight and obesity, including improving eating habits and increasing physical activity.
  • Support smoking prevention, reduction and cessation
  • Reduce the harmful and hazardous consumption of alcohol
  • Support healthy active ageing through appropriate physical activity opportunities.

 Healthy Canberra Grants provides funding for programs of up to three years duration with a minimum funding amount of $15,000 per year of funding requested. Up to $2 million will be available over the three-year period covered by this funding opportunity.

Applicants must be one of the following types of organisation:

  • a not-for-profit incorporated association or company
  • a government agency or statutory body
  • a not-for-profit organisation with other legal status
  • an ACT Government school, Independent school, Catholic Systemic or Catholic Non-systemic school
  • an accredited early childhood service or out of school hours program
  • a not-for-profit organisation in an auspice arrangement with one of the above.
