Community Consultation: My Healthy Food and Drink Choices - Extended till 24 May 2013
ACT Health is developing a new initiative to increase the opportunities for staff, volunteers and visitors to ACT Health facilities to make healthy food and drink choices and to make healthy choices the easy choices.
The initiative will apply to situations and venues where food and drinks are available to staff, volunteers and visitors through: food outlets such as cafes, shops, and the staff cafeteria; vending machines; catering; and fundraising. It will not apply to food and drinks provided to inpatients or brought from outside ACT Health for personal use.
The My Healthy Food and Drink Choices discussion paper provides background information and draft nutrition standards. The discussion paper is available via the link below, or a hard copy is available from the contact below.
Six consultation sessions were held during April for staff and the public. Due to the level of interest expressed by staff and key stakeholders the deadline for comments has been extended by one week to 24 May 2013. Written submissions are still invited by this date. The submissions should address the key questions posed in the discussion paper. Written submissions may be made publicly available unless otherwise requested by the author. Submissions should be provided by email to firstname.lastname@example.org
