
ACT Health's Population Health division manages public health issues within the ACT, through three branches:
- Policy Support Office - supports the Chief Health Officer in exercising statutory responsibilities on a range of public health and quality and safety issues.
- Health Protection Service - licenses, monitors, tests and enforces public health issues.
- Health Promotion Branch - provides policy, program delivery, health promotion, grants and research in population health matters.
- Epidemiology Branch provides timely and accurate information on the health of the ACT population, that assists in the development and evaluation of policies and interventions to improve health.

Get Healthy now!
The Get Healthy Information and Coaching ServiceŽ is now available in the ACT, so there's no better time to get healthy than now! Get Healthy is a free, confidential telephone-based Service funded by ACT Health, which helps people make lifestyle changes regarding healthy eating, being physically active, and achieving and maintaining a healthy weight.

ACT Health is smoke-free
From 01 May 2009, ACT Health is Smoke free. ACT Health is dedicated to protecting healthcare consumers, visitors and staff from the harmful effects of tobacco smoke. Smoking is not allowed at any ACT Health facility, except in a designated outdoor smoking area.
