Transcultural Mental Health Centre offers a free statewide clinical consultation and assessment service to any person of a Cultural and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) background, who is a resident of NSW, and who experiences mental health problems. The service is available to individuals, families, children and young people, adults and other older people. This service is available for the ACT.

Community Health - Migrant Health Unit - Translating & Inpterpreting Services
The TIS National interpreting service is for people who do not speak English. TIS National has more than 30 years of experience in the interpreting industry, and has access to over 1750 contracted interpreters across Australia, speaking more than 170 languages and dialects.
TIS National is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week for any person in Australia requiring interpreting services.

Companion House works with people who have sought refuge in Australia from persecution, torture and war related trauma. The team work with people who are newly arrived and longer term settlers. They work with adults, young people and children. Most of the people are asylum seekers or from a refugee background. They offer medical, counselling and community development services as well as training to other services on the refugee experience.

Cultural and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) Carer Support Groups
Carers ACT currently have 12 CALD carer support groups for carers who are caring for family members, friends or relatives with disabilities, chronic illness, frail aged or mental illness. Carers ACT also has a mental health respite service to provide short term respite and other practical help.

Mental Health First Aid course is a twelve hour program for people from all cultural backgrounds. It is designed to assist people living with mental illnesses, those in direct contact or support roles and the general public. The course teaches: Mental health first aid skills; how to recognise symptoms; how to provide initial help in a crisis situation; guiding a person towards appropriate professional help.
