- Aboriginal Liaison Officer
The Aboriginal Liaison Officer provides consultation and liaison services to all other mental health teams, aboriginal service youth and adult medical services and other stakeholders as required, to assist in the delivery of services that are sensitive to the social and cultural beliefs, values and practices of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander consumers, the consumer’s family, and their community in the ACT.

The Dual Diagnosis Worker within Mental Health provides on-site consultation to clinicians, joint interviews with clinicians and clients, assessment of clients’ substance use, limited Motivational Interviewing based counselling, maintenance of an electronic resource for clinicians & consultation to policy makers. Training, advice and consultation to workers and clients of other governmnet departments, community organisations and affiliated groups across the ACT is also provided. This also includes the provision of advice and liaison to the Alcohol & Drug Program and a fortnightly Mental Health Clinic at Directions ACT.

The Dual Disability Service is a joint initiative between Mental Health ACT and Disability ACT. It is a specialist , cross-agency, consult liaison service providing comprehensive clinical assessment and psychiatric treatment to consumers with an intellectual disability and a mental illness (dual disability). The team is co-located with Disability ACT and provides mental health expertise, training and education to community professionals and carers assisting people with a dual disability. This multidisciplinary service collaborates with treating practitioners, families, carers and other relevant agencies. Currently, referred consumers are clinically managed by Mental Health ACT, Therapy ACT or living in a Disability ACT managed group home.

BELCONNEN ACT 2617 - Eating Disorders Program
A specialist, community-based, multidisciplinary team providing assessment and treatment programs for eating disorders. Team includes: psychiatrist, psychologists and allied health professionals. Outpatient and day programs are available to residents of both the ACT and surrounding NSW regions. Consultation/liaison is also available to health professionals.
Hours: 9 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday excluding public holidays.
