ACT Pathology Collection centres

For the convenience of patients, ACT Pathology has seven licensed collection centres (see list on the left) throughout Canberra.

Our centres are staffed by experienced Registered Nurses and Technical Officers who have been extensively trained in blood collection techniques for adults, newborns and children.

Please note that collection centres are closed on public holidays. Some are also closed on Saturday of long weekends. Please refer to individual listings below.

All centres operate on a drop-in basis. The exceptions to this rule are the following tests that do require an appointment:

  • Glucose Tolerance Test (GTT)
  • Insulin Resistance Test / HOMA Index
  • Sweat test - this test is only performed at Canberra Hospital.
  • ECG Service

When presenting to an ACT Pathology collection centre patients must bring a pathology request form from their treating practitioner. Patients should also bring their Medicare card to enable bulk-billing.

ACT Pathology performs ECGs at the following collection centres:

Appointments are required for ECGs and are made from mid-morning onwards.

Fine Needle Aspiration

A Fine Needle Aspiration service is available at The Canberra Hospital collection centre, by appointment.
