Childhood Immunisation

Childhood immunisation helps kids stay healthy

Immunisation is available by appointments at Child Youth and Women's Health Program (CYWHP) Immunisation clinics across the ACT.

Your General Practitioner or the nurses in the CYWH Program can provide you and your family with all the information and support you require about the current immunisation schedule.

Clients can access this service by phoning Community Health Intake on 6207 9977 between 8am and 6pm weekdays.

In this section:

    School Immunisation

    If your child is in year six at Primary School or year nine at High School, the School Health Immunisation team of nurses offers age appropriate vaccinations at your child's school at a prearranged date and time.

    Information is sent home to you via your child's school. Consent is required prior to vaccination.

    Immunisation Records

    Immunisation records for children age less then seven (7) years old are sent directly to the Australian Childhood Immunisation Register (ACIR).

    Clients who require information about their child's immunisation history, can contact ACIR on 1800 653 809 or Medicare Australia.

    Maternity Immunisation Allowance

    You will need to provide CentreLink / Medicare with your child's ACIR proof of immunisation form at eighteen (18/12) months and less then two years of age to claim "Maternity Immunisation Allowance for children under two years old".

    Who can use this service?

    All families with children in the ACT.

    Immunisation Clinics

    School aged children must present consent card signed by parent or guardian.Child Health Clinics and schools need the child's Personal Health Record (PHR - Blue Book) and/or signed consent forms.

    Replacement copies of the Personal Health Record can be purchased from Community Health's regional health centres.
