Innovation and ReDesign

Innovation and ReDesign uses the experience and knowledge of the people 'on the ground' in our health systems to identify barriers to effective care and to develop solutions that improve access to our public health services.

The Innovation and ReDesign Unit includes the Project Support Office and Access Improvement Program which covers Models of Care, Patient and Family Centred Care, Process Redesign and the National Access Program - Care Around the Clock and the Elective Surgery Access Plan.

In addition to redesigning services, the Unit assists in the development of Models of Care developed as part of the ACT Government's Your health–our priority Initiative.

The Unit includes input from patients in all projects to ensure that models of care and redesigned solutions provide better outcomes for those for whom our services exist.

The Innovation and ReDesign Unit is also involved in the Federal Government’s reforms to the funding and governance of the health system - the National Access Program.
